If you cannot wake your PC from Sleep mode using a USB keyboard you may have to specifically allow it to wake the PC from the device manager.
Instructions from the link below:
1. Open the Keyboard control panel item, as described in Method 1.
2. Click the Hardware tab, and then click Properties.
3. Click the Change Settings button
Note This step requires Administrator access
4. Click the Power Management tab, and then verify that the Allow this device to wake the computer is enabled.
5. Click OK, and then click OK again.
