LEK has implemented software that attempts to identify known
phrases and common mistakes made by devious "spammers". Instead
of deleting or defering delivery of this email, our systems are
injecting invisible headers in the message, and if the message
is spam, the system inserts a report in the message header to
describe what "tests" the message failed. These tests explain
why a message exceeded the threshold. Customers are advised
that this software will tag legitimate email as spam in some
rare instances
LEK customers have many choices in how to proceed:
First, you can choose to do absolutely nothing, and let your
mail messages come into your regular mailbox as modified. You should
not see any changes in the way your mail works, as the tags for spam
are entirely hidden in the message header fields.
Second, depending upon your choice of software for mail reading,
you have the option of filtering identified spam and moving
it (automatically) into a temporary directory for later review.
(Highly recommended for individuals with serious spam problems)
Configuring most mail clients (Eudora, Netscape, Outlook)
usually takes no more than five minutes. We provide step by step
suggestions on the pages to follow.
